Ashland Specialty Ingredients has increased the price of its Fungitrol 400S technical iodopropynyl butylcarbamate (IPBC) fungicide (North America), Fungitrol C450 technical IPBC fungicide (Europe), and IPBC-based formulations globally, effective January 1, 2012. The Fungitrol 400S and C450 technical IPBC fungicide price increase was 52%, while the formulations increased accordingly.

IPBC-based biocides rise

Troy Corporation has increased global prices for various IPBC-based biocide products by 5% to 40%, effective January 1, 2012 or as contracts allow. Continued higher costs for key raw materials, worldwide regulatory compliance and transportation make this price adjustment necessary.

BASF ethylamines up

BASF has increased its European sales prices for ethylamines as follows: Monoethylamine (MEA 70%) +€30/t; Diethylamine (DEA) +€60/t and Triethylamine (TEA) +€70/t.

DuPont TiO2 changes

DuPont Titanium Technologies has announced a price increase of US$0.15/lb or as permitted by contract, for all DuPont Ti-Pure titanium dioxide (TiO2) sold in North America (USA and Canada) into coatings, plastics, laminates and speciality applications. This increase is in addition to any previously announced increases for North America.

Increases at Omnova

Omnova Solutions’ Specialty Chemicals business announced a price increase of US$0.06/dry lb for all styrene butadiene emulsion polymers produced in the USA. In addition, all vinyl pyridine (VP) latex products produced in the USA will increase by US$0.10/dry lb, effective January 16, 2012, for all speciality markets including coatings, tape and adhesives, floor care, graphic arts, nonwovens, textiles, construction, tyre cord and oilfield chemicals.
This action is necessitated by the continuing escalation in the costs of key raw materials.
