ITW Plexus Structural Adhesives provides advanced methacrylate technology
A major UK garage door manufacturer has been able to improve its production process and utilise faster bonding adhesives, thanks to advanced methacrylate technology available from ITW Plexus Structural Adhesives.
The company had been producing its garage doors using the wet-hand lay up technique for many years. Plexus introduced them to a more advanced process utilising their MA 320 adhesive. This has enabled the garage door producer to change from a galvanised to a powder-coated frame, which can be bonded into the door in less than 30min.

After successful trials, Plexus put together a comprehensive service package incorporating a special bulk adhesive dispensing unit (to ensure the adhesive could be used in a consistent way), timed deliveries and full on-going technical support. As a result, this has given the company a competitive edge and it has agreed a sole supplier agreement with Plexus, clearly demonstrating its appreciation for what Plexus has helped it achieve.
ITW Plexus specialises in the design and manufacture of sophisticated structural adhesives for the bonding of materials used in such diverse markets as transportation, marine, automotive and construction and the company is a division of Performance Polymers Europe, headquartered in Rushden England.
