AkzoNobel UK Decorative Coatings Business Unit, manufacturer of Dulux, Cuprinol, Hammerite and Polycell brands, has appointed IPP Logipal to provide a pallet pooling service for delivering its products to DIY centres and retail outlets in the UK.

The group produces paint in 26 countries on four continents: Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia. The headquarters are located in Slough, UK.

With several customers increasing quality control checks on incoming pallets, AkzoNobel appointed IPP Logipal to ensure Dulux products were consistently distributed on high-quality pallets across the UK.

IPP Logipal’s one-way nationwide operation makes weekly deliveries to Akzo-Nobel’s Slough manufact-uring unit and a depot in Stowmarket, Cambridgeshire. More than 150,000 pallets trips/year are made to major DIY retailers, such as B&Q and Focus, as well as leading supermarket chain, Tesco.

Pallet collections are arranged by IPP Logipal, with inspections carried out matched to KPI (key performance indicator) criteria, ensuring customers receive consistently high quality pallets.
