AkzoNobel has named Heart Wood as its Color of the Year for 2018.
Described by the company as a "subtle and warm tone of grown-up pink", Heart Wood has been created to draw from the tactile qualities of natural wood and leather, to convey comfort in response to consumers wanting to "nestle down and create a welcome home".
Extensive research is conducted by the colour team at AkzoNobel’s Global Aesthetic Center, together with a group of 11 international experts, to find the colour of the year.
This year it revealed a strong overarching trend of consumers wanting to transform their homes into spaces of retreat from the outside world.
