Alberdingk Boley launches water–based binder for architectural sector

16 August 2017

Alberdingk Boley has launched the APEO-free dispersion Alberdingk AS 2040, which offers a versatile, flexible binder for various application fields within the coatings and sealants sector.

This water-based binder features an extremely broad range of compatibility varying from acid to highly alkaline environments and thus can be used for sealants, grouts, slurries or as flexible component in cementitious screeds.

Other potential application areas are polymer blends with bituminous emulsions.

Thanks to the high solids content (approx. 57%) of this ammonia-free binder, it can be used as main resin for different kinds of flexible coatings and admixtures.

Furthermore, Alberdingk AS 2040 features excellent freeze-thaw stability and dedicates increased elasticity even in highly filled systems thanks to the polymers’ low Tg of approximately –8°C and its pigment and filler binding characteristics.

Offering this new grade Alberdingk AS 2040, Alberdingk Boley aims to strategically broaden its portfolio within the architectural segment.
