To help protect your assets in environments where high levels of corrosion protection are needed, Axalta Coating Systems, a leading global manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings, is pleased to introduce Ganicin™, a zinc-rich, corrosion-resistant coating system for the general industrial segment.
Ganicin is a new industrial product line that includes zinc-containing urethane and epoxy primers that are designed to be highly corrosion-resistant. The first product being released is Ganicin 2.8 ZR-U™, a polyurethane primer produced from organic, solvent-based technology that is formulated to provide excellent corrosion protection at 2.8 lbs/gal volatile organic compound (VOC) level. It can be spray applied and also used as a touch-up (spot repair) on organic or inorganic zinc-rich coatings.
"Axalta scientists have developed a new line of zinc-containing products to broaden Axalta’s industrial primer product portfolio,” said Ross Morgan, Axalta General Industrial Product Manager, North America. "The new Ganicin 2.8 ZR-U primer has been formulated to offer maximum corrosion protection when used over steel surfaces.” Ganicin 2.8 ZR-U is ideal for use under Axalta Corlar® epoxy primers or Imron® urethane primers to help deliver exceptional corrosion protection for customers in highly corrosive environments and in market segments such as new construction, fabrication, shipping containers and amusement parks.
Axalta plans to introduce several new premium quality Ganicin products into the industrial market throughout 2015, including a moisture-cured primer and a zinc-rich epoxy primer.
