Axalta opens waterborne coatings plant in Shanghai

20 April 2015

Axalta Coating Systems has opened a facility in Shanghai to produce waterborne coatings for China’s growing automotive market. One of Axalta’s most advanced waterborne production facilities, the plant, which will double Axalta’s capacity in China, is located adjacent to Axalta’s operations centre that opened in the Jiading district of Shanghai in 2008.

The facility features advanced manufacturing technologies, such as integrated production systems engineered to reduce the environmental footprint of coating production. It can also maximise the use of raw materials and accelerate manufacturing cycle time. Advanced air filtration systems optimise air quality and reduce emissions.
