BASF Taiwan Ltd and Nagase Wahlee Plastics Corp (NWP) announced that the companies have signed a letter of intent to enter into a distribution agreement.
Under the terms of the collaborative agreement, NWP, a specialist in the distribution of high performance materials, will support BASF’s polyurethane customers in Taiwan. It will also expand BASF’s existing presence in the domestic market with services, such as product stocking, repacking and distribution of both polyurethane solutions and injection moulding grades for thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU). At the same time, BASF will continue to provide product knowledge, formulating know-how, best-in-class quality management processes and technical service to existing and new customers.
"With NWP’s integrated sales network, we aim to offer more distribution flexibility in the local market. This partnership comes less than a year after we acquired Taiwan Sheen Soon’s adhesives business, and is part of our strategic efforts to better serve the promising Taiwan market. Our broad portfolio of polyurethanes including TPU and TPU adhesives enables us to offer attractive integrated solutions for the domestic market,” said Andy Postlethwaite, Senior Vice President, Performance Materials Asia Pacific, BASF.
