Covestro to share materials and management expertise at SSPC 2017

24 January 2017

As a leader in polyurethane chemistry and business for more than 75 years, Covestro offers a range of raw materials and solutions for high-performance, high-quality polyurethane coatings. Covestro experts will demonstrate this expertise at SSPC 2017 presented by the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) on Jan 30-Feb 2 in Tampa.

Steven Reinstadtler, Market Manager, Construction Coatings, Coatings, Adhesives & Specialties, Covestro LLC, will present the case study ‘A polyaspartic coating made a commercial bakery floor look really sweet’, at 11:30am, Tuesday, Jan 31. He will detail the process of replacing a sheet vinyl floor with visible loose seams and patching in the commercial bakery kitchen at the SpringHouse Country Market, a well-known institution in Washington, Pennsylvania. For this project, a seamless epoxy and polyaspartic floor coating system was selected and installed due to its fast return-to-service and ease of maintenance. This resulted in a seamless floor with a visually appealing finish that can handle the daily demands of a commercial bakery.

On Wednesday, Feb 1, from 3 to 5pm, Christine Bryant, Senior Vice President, Coatings, Adhesives & Specialties, Covestro LLC, will focus on technology and innovation in the coatings industry in a session titled ‘Strengthening innovation through the ‘connected generation’. She will be joined by Liz Roeske, a senior R&D specialist in Bryant’s organisation, to discuss what matters most to the technology-driven generation and how its ambassadors can strengthen a company’s culture of innovation.

Conference attendees can also visit Covestro’s booth (#540) to talk to subject matter experts and learn more about its raw materials and technologies for polyurethane coatings. Coatings using Covestro raw materials preserve and protect applications ranging from bridges and buildings to walls and flooring.

Booth visitors will learn about Covestro’s offerings for the formulation of all types of extremely durable and attractive construction coatings, including newer polyaspartic floor coatings. Polyaspartics offer the advantages of low volatile organic compound (VOC), rapid curing and are workable in low temperatures.
