Datacolor Announces PAINT v. 2.0

15 April 2015

Datacolor has announced the launch of Datacolor PAINT version 2.0, offering significant enhancements to its flagship color management software for retailers in the paint industry.

Boasting an all-new user interface, the software delivers fast and easy color search, laboratory grade matching and seamless connection to dispensers, improving overall productivity for customers.

For small to medium size retail stores, Datacolor PAINT v. 2.0 improves the total cost of ownership by enabling a single computer to affordably manage both the paint matching system and the dispenser. Additionally, for large-volume paint operations, the software supports connection to multiple dispensers enabling increased flexibility and productivity.

The upgrade also includes a new barcode scanning feature that prevents mistints by matching UPC codes to ensure the correct base is selected prior to dispensing. This quality control feature limits waste, improving the overall efficiency and user experience.

With the launch of PAINT v. 2.0, the colour matching engine also received powerful enhancements. The software now enables the same high quality custom matches at retail that are expected from professional laboratories. In addition, the new database technology delivers hassle-free updates at retail including instant access to over 200,000 colors with the latest color matching databases.

"At True Value, our team is focused on delivering exceptional customer service. By working closely with Datacolor, we have been able to add key workflow needs for retail paint,” said Dan Reed, Customer Support Manager, True Value. "Datacolor PAINT v. 2.0 is a user-friendly, colour matching software that will enable our members to grow their business by providing expert colour advice to homeowners and DIY enthusiasts.”
