Leading Dubai-based waterproofing specialist and protective coatings system house, Delta Coatings International, has announced its ambitious three-year strategic growth plan for the Middle East. The expansion will include opening a new facility in Saudi Arabia and strengthening representation in Oman and Egypt, in addition to launching an innovative, new range of self-applied products together with a major scaling up of its turnkey project delivery services covering waterproofing and asset protection solutions for mega and giga-projects.
For more than a decade, Delta Coatings has provided world-class polyurea, polyurethane and polyaspartic-based solutions to clients across the MENA region. The organisation specialises in delivering superior waterproofing and protective coating solutions for lagoons and water parks, residential and commercial projects and large-scale desalination, water reservoir and wastewater treatment plants. Delta also manufactures and supplies customised solutions for corrosion, abrasion and impact protection.
Pivoting from a midstream coatings system house to a full-service operator servicing both midstream and downstream market sectors, Delta Coatings’ multifaceted growth strategy focuses on strengthening its current offering by expanding its turnkey waterproofing project delivery services into Oman, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, while leveraging the company’s revolutionary single supplier advantage as both manufacturer and applicator.
Delta has developed an innovative roll-on, polyurea-based waterproofing membrane specifically to meet demand in the growing ready-to-use SME applicator market segment where the product will have the same advantages as a hot spray polyurea coating without the need for a significant investment in expensive, plural component spray equipment.
This new product, DELTAShield PROSeal, is a hand-applied, cold-cured UV-stable polyurea waterproofing membrane with very rapid cure times and excellent elongation — without the need for reinforcing mesh or other secondary strengthening products — providing the benefit of decreased application times. The resulting reduced labour costs and significantly diminished risk of potential damage from inclement weather further streamlines project management processes for follow-on trades.
Belvin Marx (pictured), Delta Coatings General Manager, commented: “Responding to an increased number of tender enquiries mostly from Oman and Saudi Arabia, we are excited to extend our revolutionary turnkey waterproofing project delivery services into the Kingdom and beyond to meet this growing demand. We offer the unique benefits of our single supplier advantage and turnkey model, where Delta Coatings completes all stages of major waterproofing projects. This means Delta Coatings is responsible for the supply, planning, management and execution phases of all coating and lining projects without the involvement of third-party vendors or applicators. This single point-of-contact concept streamlines project delivery, reducing risks for asset owners while providing a more cost-effective option. Major benefits include one single comprehensive warranty covering the entire ‘supply and apply’ execution works. This single supplier model protects asset owners by eliminating the ever-present risk that neither applicator nor manufacturer will take full responsibility for any remedial work should this be required during the warranty period.”
Large-scale Delta Coatings’ projects successfully carried out in this manner include Jebel Ali Sewage Treatment Plant, Meydan Crystal Lagoons, Tilal Al Ghaf Crystal Lagoons, Mohammed Bin Rashid City phases I, II and III, and Emaar Beachfront District Cooling Plant.
Marx added, “Our market research has identified significant potential in the growing self-applied and facilities management markets. Here, we are in the final stages of fine-tuning a consumer version of our innovative roll-on waterproofing product especially for the self-applied and DIY markets, where demand for a convenient, ready-to-use, hand-applied product is high.”
Detailing the new strategic growth plan aimed at doubling the company’s size over the next three years, known as DeltaDouble, Marx outlined the structured strategy which also focuses on talent development and refreshing its brand identity: “We are our people. The key driver positioning Delta Coatings as the market leader has been the company’s customer-focused service delivery model. Our corporate ethos and talented team of highly experienced experts place client needs at the centre of everything we do. With a client retention rate of nearly 100% and repeat contract wins, the company’s track record stands as a testament to our team’s commitment to building strong, ongoing relationships. This is further reinforced by our ongoing investment in staff learning and development as well as maintaining internationally benchmarked standards, such as WRAS-certification for potable water applications,” he said.
Marx concluded, “Instead of changing this highly effective formula, we aim to roll out our unique and revolutionary single supplier model into exciting new verticals and international markets, such as Oman, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and beyond. Our aim is to further reinforce Delta Coatings’ market-leading position as the waterproofing and protective coatings partner of choice in the Middle East. Our fresh new brand identity will complete this picture as we enter a new chapter of growth while continuing to place the satisfaction of our valued clients at the very centre of our mission.”
