Hempel embraces new hull performance criteria ISO 19030

18 October 2016

Hempel welcomes the soon-to-be-published ISO 19030 measures as a universally applicable and transparent methodology for measuring changes in hull and propeller performance.

Hempel has been involved in the development of this new standard from its inception and it looks forward to applying it in partnership with DNV GL. Its ongoing co-operative agreement with DNV GL utilises DNV GL’s ECO Insight solution to offer its customers clear, comprehensible and verifiable analytics, which track and assess hull and propeller performance. ISO 19030 will strengthen this arrangement, as Hempel’s Hull Performance Team Leader, Dr Marcus Tullberg, explained: "The ISO 19030 provides a foundation and a transparent framework for vessel performance analysis. We expect to combine this standard with the more advanced hull and propeller performance methodologies delivered by ECO Insight to give even greater efficiency benefits to the world’s fleet”.
