HMG Paints announces chosen charities

18 October 2018

HMG Paints Ltd has announced four chosen charities that the company will be supporting for the next two years, nominated and selected by the employees at the Manchester-based Headquarters.

Focusing on local charities, HMG Paints will be supporting Forever Manchester, The Motor Neurone Disease Association, The Cleft Lip and Palate Association and Manchester Mind.

Forever Manchester works with local communities to inspire and encourage projects to make their neighbourhoods happier, healthier and safer places to be.

They help local people to build communities from the inside out, and galvanise the true creative, entrepreneurial spirit for Greater Mancunians to emerge and shine.

"Forever Manchester is delighted to be a chosen charity for HMG Paints.

"It’s fantastic that a local company recognises the value of supporting a local, grassroot community activity that makes a difference on their doorstep, where they work and where their staff and customers live.

"We’re looking forward to working together,” commented Jean Mills, Head of Business Development at Forever Manchester.

HMG will also be supporting The Motor Neurone Disease Association, which is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on improving access to care, research and campaigning for Motor Neurone Disease.

The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is the third charity HMG will be supporting, which works to improve the lives of people born with a cleft palate and their families in the United Kingdom.

The final charity chosen by the employees of HMG Paints is Manchester Mind.

Mind has been delivering services in the city since 1989 (previously as HARP). Despite being part of the Mind Charity, they remain an independent charity, governed by their own trustees.

Manchester Mind delivers a wide range of services to support mental health and last year over 5000 people received support, information and/or training.

Specialising in bespoke coatings, product development and manufacturing, HMG boasts a large product portfolio including wet paint, powder coatings and aerosols.

HMG offers innovative and compliant coatings to a variety of markets, all backed up with outstanding technical support and customer service.

This approach extends in to HMG’s involvement in Community projects across Manchester, where HMG strives to lend a helping hand wherever they can.

"We are really looking forward to fundraising for four incredible local charities that do amazing work and need more funding.

"It is even more fitting that these charities were nominated and chosen by the people of HMG,” said John Falder, Managing Director, HMG Paints Ltd.

In November 2017, HMG Paints were the first company to win the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the prestigious British Coatings Federation (BCF) Annual Awards evening for their two year partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support.

HMG vows to continue supporting local community and charity projects utilising the company’s core business activities and staff fundraising events.
