19 February 2024

PPG’s Johnstone’s Paint™ brand has formed a partnership with the World Snooker Tour (WST). The Johnstone’s Paint brand will become the Lead Partner for the Players Championship and Tour Championship – the second and third events of the 2024 Players Series.

The first event, the Johnstone’s Paint Players Championship, will take place Feb. 19-26 at the Telford International Centre, featuring 16 players selected from the WST one-year ranking list. That will be followed by the Johnstone’s Paint Tour Championship, scheduled for April 1-7 at the Manchester Central venue, bringing together the best 12 players of the season so far.

“I am thrilled about our new partnership with the World Snooker Tour. This collaboration represents an exciting new chapter and gives us a great platform to continue to build the awareness for our flagship brand,” said Megan Esmond, PPG Marketing Director, UK & Ireland, Architectural Coatings. “The synergy between the World Snooker Tour’s elite players and Johnstone’s Paint high-performance products aligns perfectly with our brand goals. The vibrant colours associated with snooker create a dynamic connection, and we eagerly anticipate the positive impact this sponsorship will bring.”

The long-term partnership will evolve further for snooker’s global tour, with additional announcements in the pipeline ahead of next season.

“We are excited to join forces with PPG on a long-term partnership. The natural alignment between our organisations presents exciting opportunities for collaboration as we work together to achieve our respective goals,” said Peter Wright, Chief Commercial Officer, World Snooker Tour. “The Tour Championship is an elite field of the world’s best players and that matches the Johnstone’s Paint brand’s status as a respected, high-performance paint. We look forward to working with PPG and to developing this partnership with further announcements to come.”
