German speciality chemicals company, Lanxess organised a special performance of the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra and Young Euro Classic, on October 30 in the Shanghai Symphony Hall.
The concert, featuring European classical music conducted by maestro Tang Muhai, was an important part of Lanxess’ 10th anniversary celebration, which takes place under the motto ‘Energising Your Future.
"Lanxess believes that cultural understanding is a vital aspect of economic co-operation and social development. By gathering the most talented young musicians from China and Germany together, we aim to establish a bridge for promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding,” said Dr Rainier van Roessel, Member of Lanxess’ Board of Management. "We are excited to provide this platform for the young talented musicians to demonstrate their skills and passion.”
It was the eighth time that Lanxess China has teamed up with Young Euro Classic to support young talent in music and the initiative has already brought concerts to major cities in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Changzhou, Qingdao and Wuxi.
Right before the concert, the result of Lanxess China University Students Research Competition themed under ‘Clean Water for Better Life’ was unveiled.
