Meet the Lomon Billions TiO2 pigment technical experts at MECS Dubai 2019

13 December 2018

Meet the Lomon Billions TiO2 pigment technical experts at the Middle East Coatings Show at the World Trade Centre in Dubai from February 26-28, 2019.

Visit the Lomon Billions stand K03, located at the entrance to Hall 5.

High-performance TiO2 pigments

"We’re excited to be exhibiting at the MECS in Dubai again,” said Julie Reid, Marketing Director. "We’ll be promoting our range of high-performance LOMON®and BILLIONS®TiO2pigments for all major coatings and inks applications including one of our most popular pigments, LOMON®R-996 pigment, an excellent all-rounder for interior and exterior coatings, trusted by coatings formulators worldwide, and our specialist BILLIONS®TR52 pigment for printing inks.”

The Lomon Billions TiO2pigment experts will also be available at MECS 2019 to share information about the company’s latest innovation in chloride TiO2pigments, BILLIONS®BLR-895 pigment, developed through customer consultation at the company’s 12,000m2technology centre in China and manufactured using the chloride process.

"BLR-895 pigment is our new durable chloride TiO2pigment,” said Julie. "It has excellent dispersion, opacity, and gloss and delivers brilliant whiteness with a clean blue tone making it suitable for an extensive range of architectural and industrial coatings.

"Our tests show that BLR-895 pigment can deliver a brighter, bluer white when compared with several competitive chloride TiO2 pigments including internationally recognised brands, and thanks to its inorganic surface coating it has outstanding dispersion performance.

"It disperses quickly and easily into coatings formulations helping to achieve efficient production and high-quality coatings. We’re delighted that our new pigment has already been approved and used by leading global coatings producers.”

New $millions investment in two new chloride TiO2 pigment manufacturing lines

Lomon Billions has been manufacturing high-performance TiO2 pigments for more than 30 years.

It is currently the world’s fourth largest TiO2pigment manufacturer, number one in Asia, and growing fast. New $millions investment at Lomon Billions will expand the company’s chloride TiO2 pigment manufacturing capacity in 2019.

In February 2018, the board of directors at Lomon Billions approved a RMB1.8bn (~US$285M) investment in additional chloride titanium dioxide pigment production capacity at its chloride production site in Jiaozuo, Henan Province, China.

Two new chloride TiO2 pigment manufacturing lines are under construction that will provide an additional annual chloride TiO2 pigment manufacturing capacity of around 200,000t.

Commercial production from the new lines will begin in 2019.

Increased chloride TiO2 pigment portfolio will help strengthen global competitiveness

"This investment in additional chloride capacity at Jiaozuo will allow Lomon Billions to increase its chloride TiO2 pigment portfolio to manufacture more high-performance chloride TiO2 pigments for a wider range of applications” said Bruce Griffin, senior vice president for strategic development. "It will help strengthen our global competitiveness.”

The company is currently developing new chloride TiO2chloride pigments at its 12,000m2 technology centre and chloride manufacturing facility in Jiaozuo that will be launched when its additional chloride manufacturing lines are available.

Lomon Billions manufactures high performance sulfate and chloride TiO2pigments for all major applications.

The company’s TiO2 pigment experts will be at the MECS again this year.

Visit them at stand K03, located at the entrance to Hall 5.
