Dow Corning appoints representative in S Africa

The speciality chemicals expert Bodo Möller Chemie has taken over trading activity and representation of Dow Corning brand products for the automotive industry in South Africa.
The new product line includes high-performance silicone products like silicone-based sealants, lubricants, silicone mould-making rubbers, coatings and adhesives.

PPG holds second Greek training seminar

PPG Industries in Greece recently followed up its first customer training seminar with a second event at its facility in Acharnai, Athens. The event enabled customers to learn firsthand about a number of new technologies and products and to gain insight into essential aspects of the marine coatings business.

Discussion forums focused on the importance of shipboard maintenance, ballast tanks, newbuildings, cargo holds and chemical tanks.

Axalta and Kinlita in China Truck JV

Axalta Coating Systems and Shanghai Kinlita Chemical, a player in China’s industrial coatings industry, have signed an agreement to form a joint venture in China.

Aimed at driving deep into China’s burgeoning commercial truck market, the agreement leverages Axalta’s leading position in advanced coating technologies with Kinlita’s strong position in China’s commercial truck market to create a powerful and compelling new presence in China’s commercial truck market.

Royal Adhesives completes acquisition

Royal Adhesives & Sealants LLC, a portfolio company of Arsenal Capital Partners, has announced the completion of its acquisition of the assets of Advanced Polymers International from PCI Paper Conversions, Inc.

API, located in Syracuse, New York, is a manufacturer of micro-sphere-based adhesives. API’s repositionable adhesives are designed for a wide variety of coating methods, including: slot die, flexo, air knife, mayer rod, curtain and gravure.
