As part of the ongoing strategy to expand the Polygiene brand into the North American market, Polygiene Group has bought long-term distributor BioMaster US.
Not only does this major acquisition give the business a strong foothold in the US, as well as Central and South America, but it also means they can welcome BioMaster US CEO Charlie Matthews as part of the team. Charlie will spearhead the business’ expansion into the US marketplace, particularly the lucrative hard surfaces sector.
Charlie looks forward to working more closely with Polygiene Group and extending the business’s influence across the North American continent. “We are very pleased and excited to join the Polygiene Group,” comments Charlie. “Thanks to their global sales, technical and marketing support, we are confident that our US market presence will greatly expand upon the base of business that we have already established, creating a dynamic new future,” he adds.
Polygiene Group closed the deal in November 2022, paying US$120,000 for BioMaster US. The American firm has been distributing Addmaster™ products since 2008, achieving a sales turnover of over US$770,000 in 2021. Their customer base includes a global kitchen and bathroom hardware manufacturer, the largest maker of patient wristbands in the US, a global producer of laminate and vinyl flooring and a multinational producer of functional coatings.
“The acquisition of BioMaster US is a strategic move as we see great potential to grow our Protection business in the US market,” comments Polygiene CEO Ulrika Björk. “With invaluable support from Polygiene Group, we have great potential to create faster growth in hard surfaces,” she adds.
Also welcoming Bart Kennedy as Technical Sales Director
The second high-profile name to join the Polygiene Group is executive Bart Kennedy. Joining the company from Microban™, Bart brings significant industry-specific experience to the role and a passion for driving change through sustainability. Bart joins Polygiene after a successful period as Global Group Director of Textiles at Microban, an international antimicrobial and odour control specialist.
Bart has worked in the global textiles market for years, specialising in sales and marketing leadership. “With a real passion for our core value – sustainability – we feel that Bart is an excellent fit for Polygiene,” comments Ulrika Björk. “A sustainability advocate with an admirable sales track record, his passion for innovation in this field, coupled with his ability to nurture relationships with global brands, is a real boon for Polygiene,” Björk concludes.
