16 October 2018

Axalta, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, has been awarded the 14th annual Tell Award – named after William Tell, the national Swiss folk hero – for its substantial and innovative investments in Basel, Switzerland.

The award was presented by Giorgio Pompilio, Acting Consul General for Switzerland in New York, to Robert Ferris, Axalta’s Vice President for Corporate Affairs, in a ceremony at the Swiss residence in New York, USA, on October 11, 2018.

On July 1, 2016, Axalta opened its headquarters for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region in Basel, with the aim to place the EMEA headquarters in a central location that truly reflects the regional and international direction of the company.

Ferris said, "Being in the heart of Basel provides us with direct access to a terrific local talent pool in our industry and helps us to attract international experts for each of our businesses.

"At Axalta, we continuously develop our leadership and business management practices and the Basel headquarters sits squarely at the centre of that.

"We are delighted to have received this recognition and thank S-GE and BaselArea.swiss who nominated us for the Tell Award 2018.

"Axalta is looking to increase its presence in Basel.”

Continued Ferris: "We are committed to providing our customers with quality, innovation and the delivery of exceptional products, every day.

"The move to Basel was designed to make all of our employees in the EMEA region even more focused on our customers through improved cross-functional collaboration.”
