Nouryon has signed a 30 year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Convergent Energy and Power to supply 2-megawatt (MW) of solar power to Nouryon’s manufacturing site in Morris, IL, US. The onsite solar field is expected to be operational in the second half of 2024.
“We are pleased to sign our first onsite PPA in the US as part of our commitment to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions,” said Eduardo Nardinelli, Senior Vice President, South America & Global Carbon Business Leader. “We view this agreement as another step towards increasing our renewable energy footprint.”
Nouryon aims to reduce its absolute Scopes 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030 compared to 2019 and aspires to be a net-zero organisation by 2050.
