Oliver+Batlle: manufacturing process automation and versatility

28 February 2017

At the European Coatings Show 2017, Oliver + Batlle will exhibit its equipment which best helps improve manufacturing effectiveness: Mill-ennium RS basket mill, pail denester Pailmanager V-Flex and Polimix DPS disperser. At Hall 6, stand 436.

Mill-ennium RS basket mill

Among the equipment exhibited at this ECS edition, Mill-ennium RS basket mill shines on its own.

With a great batch flexibility and efficiency, Mill-ennium RS can process from low to very high viscosities up to 10.000 P. Options include a vertical helicoidal scraper for vessel side-wall and bottom scraping combined with efficient product mixing.

In addition, the basket mill is equipped with the specially developed in-house control software Obmatic Mill, to provide the right level of automation to meet the individual needs of the customer in his manufacturing process.

Mill-ennium RS can be equipped with 3 different control systems:

Version S: an essential control panel with pushbuttons for the manual operation of the mill.
Version A: a touch screen with Obmatic Mill control system which allows the operator to manage, either manually or automatically, the manufacturing process by setting time or kW set-points. It allows the mill set-up and the supervision of the operation and aids maintenance planning. This software version reduces downtime by allowing the machine to perform the process in an autonomous manner. Any irregular situation is detected by the alarm system.
Version CP: all the advantages of the version A plus the ability to create, store and launch manufacturing recipes. This provides the mill with the highest level of automation. Optimized and repeatable processes are always achieved without need to rely on the operator’s experience in grinding the product.

The Mill-ennium RS range comprises 5 models, with portable vessels up to 1300 litres batch capacity. Flexibility and automation can join your manufacturing process.

Pailmanager V- Flex. The denester you were waiting for

Pailmanager V-Flex is the youngest dispensing system of Oliver + Batlle handling equipment range, and you will have the chance to see it running at the ECS 2017, booth 436 Hall 6. This automatic vertical pail denester has been conceived to be installed ahead of automatic filling lines, in order to provide the maximum performance.

Thanks to its great flexibility and suitability, it can be installed to feed almost any automatic filling line, ensuring consistent operation with minimal downtime:

Its small footprint, thanks to the sole vertical handling of the empty pail stacks during the whole process.
Quick automatic changeover and infeed conveyor for 5 columns of pails.
Denesting capacity up to 20 pails per minute.
Dispenses all stackable cans: conical, round, oval, rectangular, metal or plastic, with or without handles.
Operation and format changeover can be managed from the touch screen.
The control panel has a function pushbuttons plus a touch screen to manage containers selection, check the equipment performance, access the maintenance menu, programme new formats and access the remote assistance.

Pailmanager V Flex is also available in version Twin, with two infeed conveyors, for a faster dispensing.

Polimix DPS mixer-disperser for all viscosities

Polimix DPS mixer-disperser by Oliver + Batlle stands out for its design flexibility and versatility to meet any production needs.

This multi-shaft disperser may feature from one to 3 shafts: dissolver, scraper and blender. The shafts can be equipped with a variety of tools such as radial / axial, dispersing, helicoidal with and without scrapers, standard anchor with scrapers and X – shaped blenders.

With vessel capacities ranging from 150 to 15000 litres and optional elements like hydraulic lifting system of the HSD shaft, limpet coil, pressure and vacuum, two section cooling jacket, and ATEX Zone 0 certification, almost any product can be manufactured: from stuccos, putties, textured paints, floorings, to intumescent paints, waterproof coatings, contact adhesive and PU coatings.

If your main concern is batch flexibility and energy saving, then the POLIMIX DPS-ORC version is available.

This high performance twin shaft coaxial mixer-disperser features a fully conical vessel that renders the equipment highly versatile for production of both small and large batches of widely different rheologies and viscosities. The high speed dissolver and an anchor shaft with scrapers allow the equipment to process volumes of only 20% of its total capacity.

Moreover, at the same batch time and conditions, POLIMIX DPS –ORC saves up to 15% of energy in the manufacturing process if compared with a standard cylindrical disperser.

Integrated automatic or semi-automatic CIP cleaning system is also available for all models.

You will be able to see the Polimix DPS configurator at ECS 2017, booth 436, hall 6.
