Feature for RST-CPS Touch Rheometer

Brookfield has introduced an Automatic Gap Setting feature for the RST-CPS Touch Cone/ Plate rheometer. Customers would previously have used a dial indicator gauge to manually set the critical gap between the nose of the spindle cone and the plate of the instrument. Now it can do it automatically.

Brookfield’s Automatic Spindle Recognition System utilises a barcode on the spindle shaft to identify the spindles cone diameter, angle and truncation value. The RST-CPS Touch reads the barcode and then automatically sets the gap to the proper truncation value for consistent, repeatable measurements.

PPG debuts wet-on-wet Spectracron SEP primer

PPG Industries’ industrial coatings business has introduced SPECTRACRON SEP primer, a fast-drying, two-component (2K), wet-on-wet epoxy primer that is designed to help heavy-duty original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) increase production throughput without sacrificing corrosion resistance.

Spectracron SEP primer can be used on production lines with 5-, 10- and 30min flash times, enabling OEMs to simplify stocking and reduce inventory. The product also provides higher gloss finishes with no solvent-pop or soak-in issues, as well as improved corrosion resistance, cycle times, masking performance and handling. Operational benefits include low VOC emissions, easier application, reduced fluid flows and flush solvents, and lower paint costs. It is available in green and buff colours, and it may be formulated in other colours for specific applications or customers.
