UK-based paint manufacturer Fenwick & Tilbrook has gone plastic-free by removing all plastic from its packaging and packing materials.
With immediate effect, Fenwick & Tilbrook paint will be sent out in its standard boxes, which are already made from recycled board, but they will be packed using only paper bubble wrap and sealed with kraft paper tape. Brown kraft paper will be used to wrap smaller parcels together. The paint tins themselves are made entirely from metal (including the handle) with a paper label on the front, making them already fully recyclable.
Clare Tilbrook, Director at Fenwick & Tilbrook, said: "As a manufacturing and retail business, we take our environmental responsibility very seriously. We have been taken aback by the latest reports on plastic in our oceans and the massive impact plastic is having on the planet. We’ve decided it’s time to do our bit and put these measures in place with our packaging. If we all make some simple changes, we can make a difference.”
Fenwick & Tilbrook has also been in touch with its delivery company DPD to check the standard DPD express bag used for some express orders is fully biodegradable.
