PPG and Tasca Racing extend partnership into 2024 drag racing season

06 February 2024

PPG has extended its sponsorship of the Tasca Racing team for the 2024 season. The eye-catching PPG Nitro Funny Car will be on the track for three National Hot Rod Association® (NHRA®) Mission Foods Drag Racing Series races, starting with the season opener at Gainesville Raceway in Florida this March.

The PPG Ford® Dark Horse® Nitro Mustang® Funny Car will make its debut February 8-10 at the inaugural FloRacing PRO (Professional Racers Owners Organization) Superstar Shootout at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Fla. This invitation-only event will feature races for the Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock division classes.

Led by Bob Tasca III, Team President and Driver, Tasca Racing is running the full schedule in this year’s NHRA Nitro Funny Car division. The team’s 11,000-horsepower Nitro Funny Car will display the PPG logo in every race. Tasca is also Vice President of Tasca Automotive Group, a key customer of PPG’s Automotive Refinish business.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring Tasca Racing again in 2024,” said Bill Shaw, PPG Global Business Director, strategic initiatives, Automotive Refinish. “It’s a new year, they’ve got a beautiful new car and with a top-three finish last season, we can’t wait to see what Bob and the rest of the Tasca Racing team achieve in the upcoming season.”

PPG has played a key partnership role in the growth of our collision centres over the years,” said Tasca. “When I’m running the PPG Nitro Funny Car, PPG always shows up with a great group of fans to support us and our racing programme. We could not be happier to have them back for the 2024 season.”

For more than 25 years, PPG and Tasca have built a strong partnership. The Tasca Automotive Group operates multiple car dealerships, collision centres and service centres that use PPG products. The PPG Envirobase® High Performance paint system is the brand of choice in the company’s collision centres.
