PPG has announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Hodij Coatings, a leading Performance Coatings distributor in The Netherlands. PPG will close the transaction as per October 1, 2018. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Hodij Coatings, established in 1979, distributes a portfolio of well-known professional paint brands in the segments Automotive Aftersales, Protective and Industrial Coatings. It has its Head-Office in Hoogeveen, the North of the Netherlands with a branch in Eersel in the South. The company employs 37, predominantly customer facing, staff across its operations. Reported sales in 2017 were US$17.8M.
"Hodij Coatings is a well-managed business, providing excellent customer service to a diverse portfolio of customers in the North and South of The Netherlands,” said Jérôme Zamblera, Vice President Automotive Refinish PPG Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
"This acquisition will provide our business with even greater opportunities to approach our customer base with an integrated approach; bringing the expertise and technology of our combined businesses to the customer through a single point and strengthen our presence in this important region.”
