PPG has completed a student training and skill-building initiative for the Şehit Volkan Tantürk Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Kocaeli, Turkey. PPG provided support including more than 150 litres of marine coatings for the refurbishment of a marine service boat that will be used for the education of more than 200 students at the school.
“This donation is an important contribution to technical education and training for students in our community,” said Gizem Gürson Impram, PPG HR Country Coordinator, Turkey. “It is often a challenge for schools to provide a real-life environment for students to learn and practice. With this boat, shipbuilding students will learn practical skills in maintenance and painting, while maritime students will gain hands-on experience using the engine room and wheelhouse.”
