Registration is open for the 2019 CoatingsTech Conference, which will be held April 8-10, 2019 at the Westin Cleveland Downtown Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio.
In accordance with the theme of the conference – "Making Sustainability Ideas Happen: Coatings for the Future” – the multi-track forum offers industry experts a platform for sharing new research and will include advanced short courses.
Register by February 8 to take advantage of early bird rates.
Dr Klaas Kruithof, Chief Technology Officer of AkzoNobel Paints & Coatings, will deliver the keynote address, "Coatings 2.0: Changing the Palette of the Blue Planet.”
He will highlight several new developments in coatings technology that help industry tackle today’s environmental concerns and discuss how some challenges offer unique opportunities for innovation and help develop industry business.
On the second day of the conference, Dr Michael Diebold, Technical Fellow, R&D, at Chemours Company, will deliver the Mattiello Lecture, "Optimizing the Benefits of TiO2 in Paints.”
He will focus on the formulation factors that affect the light scattering efficiency, the durability performance of TiO2, and techniques to optimise these properties.
In addition to the technology-focused sessions, the conference will also feature a special one-day Regulatory & Sustainability Session, which will begin with an address from Brad Parrack, Principal AQ Chemist from California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District.
Parrack will provide a regulatory update on Method 313, Exclusion Pathway, Roundrobin, and Exempt Compounds.
An additional 10 sessions will cover an array of topics, including Green Marketing Claims, ASTM Methods, and updates on Sustainability, TiO2 Classification, Preservatives, Microplastics, California Proposition 65 and the Toxic Substances Control Act.
The CoatingsTech Conference enables coatings manufacturers, their suppliers, universities and government representatives to share ideas, collaborate, and gain up-to-date information on topics critical to the coatings industry.
