Visitors attending CHINACOAT 2014 will be introduced to a broad range of high performance, organic, and metallic pigments, preparations, and high functionality resin and additives from Sun Chemical Performance Pigments and its parent company, DIC, that can maintain high color strength and give added durability in a variety of harsh conditions in the automotive, industrial and architectural coatings markets.

Sun Chemical to Introduce New Fine Particle Size Aluminum Flakes in Benda-Lutz MAXAL EC Line
Visitors of DIC/Sun Chemical’s booth, located in zone 1, booth #10.2D15-24, will be introduced to Sun Chemical’s new fine particle size aluminium flakes in the Benda-Lutz® MAXAL EC range. The two new products offer a high level of brightness unusual for their small size, while providing the same industry-leading stain resistance offered by the line’s state-of-the-art EC encapsulation technology.
Benda-Lutz® MAXAL EC encapsulated pastes add enhanced gassing stability in waterborne paint and provide superior resistance to alkali and acid staining without impacting the optical properties of the base aluminum flake, for a wide variety of applications including the coating of automotive parts and accessories and outdoor architectural coatings in powder and liquid paints.
For premium mirror-like coatings, Benda-Lutz® SPLENDAL offers four unique microscopically-thin aluminium platelet suspensions produced via physical vapour deposition. These vacuum metallised pigments range from a brilliant clean ‘white’ to intense dark chrome reflections and are available in multiple solvents for almost every coating application. The SPLENDAL pigment range finds widespread application for premium consumer electronics, automotive interiors and automotive wheels.
Organic Pigment Lines Offer Colour Options for General Industrial and Architectural Coatings
Sun Chemical will also showcase its SunFast® and Sunbrite® organic pigment lines for general industrial and architectural coatings. The SunFast and Sunbrite pigment lines represent a range of pigment indexes in the yellow, blue, green and red colour space. Easy to disperse with a strong balance of performance, high color strength, stability and lightfastness attributes, these pigments bring strong value to industrial and architectural applications.
The SunFast and Sunbrite pigment lines are a good complement to Sun Chemical’s market-leading spectrum of Quindo products. Adaptable and easy to use, Sun Chemical’s Quinacridone pigments can be used in both solvent and waterborne formulations, provide strong light fastness and weather fastness characteristics, and offer solid resistance to solvents.
Sun Chemical Predisol Preparations Provide Deep Black Look
For stir-in pigments, Sun Chemical Performance Pigments will feature its line of Predisol® CAB pigment preparations provide maximum colour intensity, cleaner hues and extreme transparency of the base pigment. The line includes a range of high grade black pigments which provide for a very deep black colour and excellent jetness.
The Predisol CAB preparations are formulated with a balance of pigment and resin in order to achieve complete incorporation after just 30-45min of high speed stirring. This ease in dispersion allows for a streamlined production process overall, from stirring to cleaning the dispersing equipment.
Ideal for a variety of wood and furniture finishes, Predisol preparations are compatible with commonly used acrylic and cellulosic coatings and do not contain any additives that could complicate the formulation process, resulting in a high quality pigment consistency.
