Omya, a leading global producer of industrial minerals and a worldwide distributor of speciality chemicals, is increasing prices for its Calcium Carbonate products globally, starting from April 1, 2021 or as customer contracts allow.
The price increase is necessary due to escalating chemical raw materials, freight and energy costs globally, as well as inflation.
"In spite of our efforts in controlling costs through continuous process improvements, we are unable to absorb the impact of the increased costs that we are currently experiencing,” said Philippe Quéméner, Executive Vice President Operations, responsible for the global procurement activities within Omya.
