OMNOVA Solutions will exhibit at MECS 2016

09 February 2016

Omnova Solutions, a global manufacturer of emulsion polymers, will exhibit its full range of speciality resins for the coatings industry at the Middle East Coatings Show 2016 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, Dubai UAE, March 14-16, 2016.

Omnova will showcase, on stand B44, the company’s broad portfolio of coating resins and floor care polymers (Pliolite, Hydro Pliolite, Plioway and Pliotec) that add valued performance attributes to applications that include exterior masonry, direct-to-metal, stain blocking, waterproofing, as well as intumescence.

MECS 2016 will be an excellent opportunity for Omnova to introduce its recent waterborne developments:

Pliotec SA40 is an innovative dispersion that has proven its effectiveness globally. It is particularly suitable for low VOC odourless waterproofing sealers and masonry pigmented primers, providing excellent resistance to alkalinity and efflorescence, even on freshconcrete and mortars.

Omnova’s ‘Hydrophobic Dispersion Technology’” has already made Pliotec HDT12 an environmentally preferred resin in Europe and North America for the formulation of metal coatings, from high gloss direct-to-metal enamels to anti-corrosion primers. New versions with higher Tg, still with unequalled adhesion to ferrous and non-ferrous metals and outstanding water resistance properties, are being introduced in 2016. These Pliotec HDT dispersions are also particularly suitable for the formulation of multi-surface paints, with superior adhesion on non-porous substrates and fast hardness development.

After the successful launch in Europe of Pliotec LEB18, Omnova is currently leveraging its ‘Low Exudation Binder’ platform for various climates all over the world. These experimental acrylate copolymers have all the advantages of current best-in-class binders for facade coatings (thin film, anti-carbonation, semi-thick semi-flexible) but incorporates new technology from Omnova that provides the added bonus of robust film formation and superior resistance to surfactant leaching and efflorescence, common problems that canprematurely disfigure facades.
