How would you like to be a part of a brand new networking opportunity? To have the chance to come along and network with friends and associates from the Coatings Industry? All in a day’s work?
The brand new ‘OCCA Industry Networking Lunch’ is to be launched this autumn – mid-week, during working hours, in an attempt to kick-start a revival of networking events under the OCCA umbrella.
The venue is Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, 11.30am – 4.00pm
The background
Over recent months, we have been considering the future of OCCA and discussing with friends & colleagues what OCCA means to its members and how OCCA may better benefit members in the future.
Speaking to President, Jim Bury, it is very clear that we are surrounded by countless individuals who are passionate about our industry. None more so than Jim himself. With Jim about to enter his second year as President of OCCA, he is keen to leave a legacy to fellow and future members alike and, having considered various options, remains convinced that OCCA would benefit massively from a major networking event for its members and their guests.
The aim would be to make this an annual autumn event. Jim has asked Ann-Marie Etherington and Lynda Harrison, of the newly formed Kaleidoscope Colours Ltd, to assist him with the organisation and planning of the event.
Jim explains in more detail:
"Why wait for Surfex every two years to meet up with friends & colleagues from the industry? You can now benefit from an industry wide networking opportunity every year. This inaugural event will be held on Wednesday 21st October at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground. We are planning a 3 course lunch and have lined up a most entertaining speaker. There will be a Grand Prize raffle, with all proceeds donated to charity – in much the same vein as the Kaleidoscope Industry Dinner held alongside Surfex.”
"I believe OCCA can still provide a forum for learning and exchange of ideas, which is an essential function of our Association. Equally important, however, is the networking and social side of our great and diverse industry. Our seminars are held on a regular basis up and down the country, but we seem to have lapsed a little on the social side. Therefore I invite you to join me for the first of what I trust will become a ‘must attend’ annual gathering of all those associated with the Coatings Industry. After all, everyone knows what a world without coatings and colour would be like. Equally we all know what a world with all work and no play means!!”
Ticket price and availability
Clearly not all guests will be OCCA members, as invitations are extended to members and their guests, to ensure a good turnout and a useful environment within which to network effectively.
Ticket price will be kept to a very reasonable £40.00 + VAT to generate much-needed support and get this inaugural event off the ground. Tickets will be available as tables of 10,11 or 12 or on an individual basis, to ensure everyone has a chance to be involved.
So don’t delay. Go to www.kaleidoscopecolours.com to order your tickets and pay online. Simply register a new account and then proceed to the EVENTS page – click on the Lunch and follow the simple order process.
For companies and individuals who require assistance with accommodation, we have managed to secure a very competitive rate at the Emirates Old Trafford Lodge for the Wednesday evening. Please contact Ann-Marie Etherington (07739 689710) or Lynda Harrison (07963 514658) for more details.
