Asian Paints, India’s largest paint company inaugurated the Phase II expansion project of its paint manufacturing facility in Rohtak, Haryana, India. The capacity is being expanded by 50,000KL/annum to 200,000KL/annum.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda unveiled the foundation stone signaling the expansion. Hon’ble Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr Randeep Singh Surjewala, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Mr Shadi Lal Batra, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Rohtak, Mr Deepender Singh Hooda, Hon’ble Minister of State for Industries & Commerce, Haryana, Mr Gopal Kanda, Hon’ble Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Haryana, Mr Ram Kishan Gujjar, Hon’ble MLA, Rohtak, Mr B B Batra, Hon’ble MLA, Kalanaur, Mrs Shakuntala Khatak were also present on the occasion. The total investment including land for the initial and second phase is about Rs. 640 crores. The plant employs 625 people and manufactures water-based paints.
The state-of-the-art facility at Rohtak commenced commercial production in April 2010 with an initial capacity of 150,000KL/annum. The plant has been built to very exacting and contemporary Environment, Health and Safety standards.
The other paint manufacturing facilities of Asian Paints in India are located at Mumbai (Maharastra), Ankleshwar (Gujarat), Kasna (Uttar Pradesh), Patancheru (Andhra Pradesh) and Sriperumbudur (Tamil Nadu). The company is also setting up a plant at Kesurdi (Khandala) in Maharashtra.
