The Bodo Möller Chemie Group grew significantly in 2021. In spite of the current situation characterised by shortages of raw materials and enormous price increases in certain products, the company registered 40% growth as supplier and application expert for speciality chemicals. Existing partnerships with leading manufacturers could be expanded even further and newly added industrial partners also supplemented the portfolio of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group. "This development impressively confirms our strategy to link the distribution of technologically leading products of well-known manufacturers with extensive in-house expertise for their application and use. In addition, we have our own products, which we produce in our own locations. We are very thankful that in spite of the problematic global situation, which is also related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to achieve this growth,” said Frank Haug, Chairman of the Board of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group. The Group not only has its own locations throughout the world, but also a sophisticated logistics network to ensure enormous delivery reliability. In 2021, new regional branches opened in Bucharest (Rumania) and in Madrid, the Spanish capital.
Headquarters expansion
The company also moved into new premises at the headquarters location in Offenbach am Main. Customer Service is now located in an adjacent building of the Bodo Möller Chemie main office and a technical solutions showroom with speciality chemicals is being planned. The co-operation with leading manufacturers of the chemical sector could be significantly expanded and there are exclusive sales & distribution agreements for numerous global regions. In 2021, among other things, the distribution of Henkel Adhesive Technologies for numerous market segments – including the electrical and automotive as well as the furniture & building components and surface treatment market – was successfully expanded in Europe and China. More co-operation was established with Merck, Kraton, and Songwon in the area of performance chemicals. For the CASE industry (coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers), additional partnerships were formed for various sales & distribution regions with FP Pigments, Imerys, and Budenheim. In the area of composites and tooling, Porcher Industries is a new partner, and further co-operation for the plastic additives and pigments area will be completed soon.
Expansion of the service portfolio
"Industrial partners value our company not only because of the excellent market access – among our customers throughout the world, we enjoy not only the reputation of being a dependable and competent supplier and advisor – but we also offer the services that our customers can benefit from. In addition, we have our certified laboratories as well as the customised cutting service for glass fibre fabric and other services that exceed the sector standard,” explained Frank Haug. Thus, the Israeli branch is certified according to the ISO:9001 standard with the AS9120 extension for the aerospace sector. The likewise in-house Adhesive Competence Center (ACC) based in Europe advises about the implementation of adhesive processes, thereby helping customers to prepare their audits in accordance with DIN 2304 and DIN 6701-2. The ACC is correspondingly certified for both standards. "We are on the path to become one of the leading adhesive distributors and application experts in Europe and the world. Nowadays, the industry requires the supplier to be more knowledgeable than ever before, and this specialisation on product and technical know-how has always been our mission,” described Frank Haug to conclude.
