Cromadex goes for gold with Team GB

01 August 2012

As Olympic rowers Helen Glover and Heather Stanning win the first gold medal for Team GB today, August 1, Cromadex is proud to supply gold paint to coat a post box in each of their home towns to celebrate their achievement.

The Royal Mail initiative will see one post box being painted gold in the home towns of all British gold medallists in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. A dedicated team, armed with a liquid anti-corrosive primer and a liquid gold topcoat
both supplied by Cromadex UK, are on standby for Team GB gold medal wins.

Dave Heflin, Sales and Marketing Manager Cromadex, commented: "This is a unique initiative and we are very excited to be able to supply the paint used by Royal Mail to celebrate the achievements of Team GB. We are delighted to be able to celebrate all the achievements of our Olympic athletes. Of course, Helen Glover and Heather Stanning’s gold medal win is extra special – let’s hope for even more gold medals for Great Britain.”

The anti-corrosive primer used on the post boxes gives superb opacity and coverage and offers corrosion protection with great durability, which makes it ideal for repainting the red post boxes. The gold topcoat is part of the Cromadex Image collection, a range of high quality liquid metallic finishes. It offers a stunning finish with a fast touch dry time.

The first two gold post boxes will appear in Penzance, Cornwall and Lossiemouth, Scotland, in the next few days. The gold post boxes will go back to their traditional red shortly after the end of the London 2012 Olympics.
