At the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, more than 4600 visitors from some 81 countries attended this year’s Middle East Coatings Show.
Following the opening by HE Eng Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, walking the halls, it was clear that the enthusiasm of the visitors to see and learn about the new technologies on the stands was as keen as in previous years. Some companies had increased the size of their stands and were happy they had done so, to accommodate the number of people looking to improve their knowledge and competitiveness in the market place.
Ian Faux, Vice President, Coatings Group, expressed his pleasure with this year’s event by saying: "This was one of our busiest ever events, with a massive international contingent. It confirmed the need to place our main annual event in a stable environment where continued growth can be assured. The Middle East Coatings Show Dubai is located firmly at the heart of the MENASA region, drawing large numbers of visitors from all around the gulf but also very meaningful numbers from India and Pakistan. Another noteworthy development this year was the return of significant visitor numbers from Iran, for the first time in several years.
"We are delighted with the support for the event, both here and at our other locations in North Africa and Egypt, and look forward to going from strength to strength in the future as industrial growth in the region continues.”
