Nippon Paint signs technical co-operation MOU with Dow

Nippon Paint China and Dow Microbial Control, the world’s largest biocide supplier, signed a technical co-operation memorandum of understanding (MOU) on December 11, 2014, in which the two companies reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate in the R&D of sustainable coating products.
The partnership, with a view to strengthen the business ties between the two chemical companies, is expected to fuel innovation in coating technologies and facilitate both parties to better serve the fast-growing coating market in China.
The heightened interest from consumers in sustainable, high-performing waterborne coatings has brought Nippon Paint China tremendous new opportunities, according to Tang Lei, Technical Director of Decorative Coatings Division, Nippon Paint China.
"We are looking forward to strengthening our co-operation with Dow Chemical in microbial control technologies,” said Tang.
"Leveraging on their advantages in technological innovation and market services, we hope to establish a microbial control platform for coatings that are able to address various technical issues that we meet in microbial control for our products. We expect this partnership to pave the way for technology upgrades and the development of the coating industry.”
