PPG has donated more than 290g (1100l) of MASTER’S MARK™ antibacterial interior latex coatings by PPG to Shanghai Tong Ren Hospital. The facility will use the coatings to renovate its medical laboratory, fever clinic, negative pressure isolation room and centre of disease control.
The Master’s Mark LUXURIANT™ and ECO TOUCH™ interior latex coatings by PPG can kill 99.99% of E coli and Staphylococcus and kill 99.93% of the H1N1 virus under China’s National (GB) standards. "We’re very grateful to PPG for the donation of these advanced coatings products,” said Ma Jun, Dean of Shanghai Tong Ren Hospital. "Through this renovation, we hope to maintain a clean and safe environment that will help increase the hospital’s protection against bacteria and also aid in the protection of health of healthcare workers and patients.”
Since the coronavirus outbreak, PPG and its employees have donated more than RMB1.4M (more than US$200,000) to the China Red Cross Foundation. The company’s donation of antibacterial coatings aims to offer direct support to medical institutions exposed to a high risk of infection.
"Healthcare workers are at the frontline of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Vincent Robin, PPG President, Asia Pacific. "PPG is grateful for their dedication and proud to participate to the efforts to improve their working environment and protect them, as well as their patients. We will continue to collaborate closely with local communities to address needs that may arise in the battle against this global pandemic.”
