05 June 2024

Sherwin-Williams is dedicated to supporting both do-it-yourselfers and painting professionals with resources to make confident colour selections and expert, personalised service at its more than 4800 neighbourhood stores across North America.

Sherwin-Williams presents the next-gen colour tool with their new app powered by AI technology, with a focus on delivering easier and more productive ways for homeowners to try colours out instantly and seamlessly order samples directly through the app.

“Homeowners who love design and doing their own projects tend to struggle when it comes to choosing the perfect paint colour,” said Sue Wadden, Sherwin-Williams Director of Color Marketing. “On average, they consult 10+ touchpoints before committing to a colour, indicating how overwhelming this process can be for them. This revolutionary colour technology will give them the confidence they need by seamlessly allowing them to find the right color without the stress they normally go through.”

The Sherwin-Williams Company reports 2024 Q1 results

Sherwin-Williams built upon its advancements in digital colour visualisation by leveraging its colour data and colour expertise to create personalised colour recommendations. The Sherwin-Williams Color Expert app uses innovative and groundbreaking AI color technology to detect colours already present in a room, such as art and furniture, and instantly provide users with personalised paint colour recommendations based on what’s in their space.

All app users have to do is upload an image of the desired space and the technology will instantly recommend several wall colours that complement other items in the room, such as furniture and décor.
