Spencer Coatings has become the UK’s largest independent coatings manufacturer since acquiring Stokes Paints in a deal worth £5M.
Employing in excess of 100 people, the enlarged Spencer Coatings will have a turnover of more than £16M/yr and support the company’s continuing growth in global markets. The Aberdeen-based company will maintain its corporate headquarters, investing in a new Distribution Centre in Aberdeen and will also establish a new technical centre in the city. Spencer’s main R&D unit will be merged with the Stokes Laboratories and relocated to a new facility at Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire. The Stokes Paints’ manufacturing facility in Huthwaite will become the company’s primary production hub.
