The Board of Directors has announced a revised strategy for the Tikkurila Group. The company’s strategic intent is to be the leading provider of paint-related architectural solutions for consumers and professionals in the Nordic area as well as in Russia and other selected Eastern European countries.
In order to secure the competitiveness in an uncertain and quickly changing market environment, Tikkurila has decided to start a group-wide programme aiming at more flexible organisation and cost structure, as well as at streamlining all operations. According to the plan, the organisation structure will be revised, areas of responsibilities clarified and ways of operating changed. In addition, the roles of different production facilities will be reconsidered and reorganised where applicable.
As part of the planned programme, Tikkurila will start co-operation negotiations in Finland, which will affect all personnel groups and functions of Tikkurila Oyj. According to the company’s preliminary estimation, the reduction need is approximately 100 employees at the most. Tikkurila has in total 3700 employees, of which about 750 work in Finland.
