PPCJ spoke to Yash Sheth, CEO of Hwatsi Chemical, a gold sponsor at this year’s Middle East Coatings Show in Cairo. Founded around 20 years ago, Hwatsi has grown to become one of the largest exporters of liquid solvent chemicals and speciality chemicals from India.
Under the leadership of Mr Bharatkumar Sheth and Mr Yash Sheth, the company has been awarded the Highest Export Award from the Government of India for three consecutive years. At present, the company exports to more than 20+ countries from its warehouse at Kandla Port.
What are you hoping to gain from attending MECS Cairo?
We are excited to be a gold sponsor for this event at Cairo! Our existing customers from Egypt, Lebanon, UAE, Oman, Jordan are visiting us here. We hope to see more customers from Egypt and different countries.
Why is the Egyptian market important to your company?
Egypt is a very important market for us! The transit time from our factory to Egypt is just 10 days as it’s a neighbouring country for us and we maintain ready stocks of our products for shipment to Egypt. We see the potential of the paint, inks and coatings industry in Egypt to rise at a consistent pace year on year – by 2035 we see the chemical market of Egypt doubling in size compared to this year.
How important do you find face-to-face meetings?
We have many customers with whom we have sold ample of cargos but haven’t seen their face yet! It’s very exciting to see a customer or supplier in person by inviting them to our stall – It’s true what they say: “A personal touch is what that matters the most.”
What will you be promoting at the show?
We will be promoting our solvent chemicals with JUST IN TIME inventory model. We assure customers that the goods will reach them in the quickest way possible, at the best rate and, of course, with the best quality. As we always say, if its solvents then its Hwatsi!
